Not sure if you watch much/any of the Fox CFB coverage but their announcing crew blows ESPN's out of the water. Brando is A+ doing both football and hoops as is obviously Johnson.
110%. Bill Raftery is probably the most iconic national voice of college basketball behind only Jim Nantz. Dicky V is more "famous", but the guy is a Duke homer and just generally a moron. I'd rather listen to Bill Walton eat watermelon than Dicky V call a game. Bilas and the rest of the Gameday crew can't hold a candle to Gus & Bill (and we've even had Bill calling some of our Tuesday night games this season on FS1).

I love our new home on Fox. Second best network for primetime sports, right behind CBS. ESPN family of networks lost their dominance on primetime a decade ago.

I won't use any names here, but on a flight several years ago I happened to be seated next to a well-known ESPN football analyst. He was very pleasant and engaging, so after a few hours of trust-building I asked his opinion of two ESPN basketball analysts, one of whom I played for in college. He was quite complimentary of my former coach, but.......in quite colorful language, made it most clear his distaste for the other, who was known for his cackling references to "Diaper Dandies".

Guy you sat next to is probably a . People love Vitale at ESPN. You might find his act annoying, but he's a pretty beloved human being.

Billy Packer was outstanding before he got full of himself. Back in the days when he did color with Dick Enberg, without Al McGuire horning in on them, they were a good watch. As was Packer and Jim Thacker doing ACC games back in the days of minimum network coverage of college hoops.

DickieV hate is like Bill Walton hate. Its fine if their schtick isnt to a persons taste watching a game. However it doesnt mean they are bad people or that others don't really enjoy the schtick.

By pretty much any measure College Basketball owes Dick Vitale recognition as a key ambassador through it's growth.

I mean in the 90's Vitale doing your teams game was the ultimate stamp of approval on a team being nationally relevant. And he made every game seem like a huge event.

Packer never cut Smitty any slack with his handle--Always a carry.

Keep Jim Jackson as far away as possible after saying Bouk wasn't on his ALL BE 1st Team.

I know he does a lot for charities and stuff. But as an analyst, I just can't agree. His Dook nut-munching and all hail the mighty ACC is just too much for me. Plus he hasn't said anything original in 37 years.

When discussing Bouknight's elbow injury, Raf said" Being Irish the elbow is very important." King of the one liners! Can't wait to watch/listen to the broadcast but wish I were there.

Dickie V knows more basketball than you use words. in long winded posts that you use to make yourself feel better about yourself...

Dicky V also knows more basketball than you do grammar. But he is still annoying as heck to listen to with his viagra fueled bone for Duke. What’s your point?
