Big East this season - surprises

Such a hard season to figure out with so many games being cancelled, but one thing that has surprised me is the order of the top teams in the Big East. Preseason, the coaches picked the following order:

1. UCONN
2. DePaul
3. Marquette
4. SJU
5. Creighton
6. SHU
7. Villanova
8. Butler
9. Xavier
10. Providence
11. Georgetown

But the current standings at the top are a fair amount different:

1. UCONN
2. Marquette
3. DePaul (only because they have 1 loss to UCONN)
4. Villanova
5. Georgetown (but only played 2 games - literally only 2 and are 1-1 in the conference)
6. Providence
7. Creighton
8. SHU
9. Xavier
10. SJU
11. Butler

To me the biggest surprises are Villanova and St. Johns. Yeah SHU is lower, but at 1-2 with losses to UCONN and 'Nova, there is still a lot of hoops to be played. Nova seems a fair amount better than the coaches thought, and St. John's a fair amount worse. I think there is a fair amount of good to very good coaches in the league and I'm hopeful that in the years to come, the Big East women's conference will become as good and well rounded as the men's.
