At his age, I don't see a turnaround gig working out.

Great BB mind. Would be good for the BE. Also he would help put SMU BB on the Map. He would bring media exposure something SMU currently doesn't get.

LB started lobbying for a college HC job a few days before the final four. He can do quite a bit of good but he gets bored far too quickly and at his age, I doubt that by year three he'll want to stick around. if I were a school like SMU however i would jump at the chance to hire him (and hopefully have a bright, young candidate as his right hand, ready to take over once Larry says adios).

No matter what level (pros or college) he knows how to turn teams around. He is like a hermit crab. He molts his shell and finds a new one. Don't see him lasting three.

Shows there coming to play not just football
Yes, SMU will be a BE basketball member. Since finally sh!tcanning Matt Doherty, taking over 1 month already to hire a new coach may not bode well for the Mustangs. From afar, SMU appears to be struggling to attract sincere interest from respected coaches (current, past, or assistant). An SMU alumnus/friend mentioned some SMU alumni are joking about whether they'll be a Mustangs' hoops coach by or after the Kentucky Derby.
