Would like to create a thread to keep track of our conference mates' recruiting.

Both Butler and Xavier nabbed top-175 prospects on Friday.

Xavier signed Cesare Edwards from Hartsville, SC. The 6'10 205 forward was ranked #109 on 247. Other offers from a few ACC teams (Florida State, Clemson, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest) and SEC teams (Florida, Texas A&M, South Carolina) as well as VCU.

"EVALUATED 04/03/2020 Evan Daniels PROJECTION: Power-5 Starter

Lean build with good end-to-end mobility. Average athleticism. Has a good skill level. Flashed good hands and has decent touch. Has a go-to moves on the block, getting to a right jump hook over his left shoulder. Next steps are adding strength and improving as a rim protector."

Butler signed hometown kid DJ Hughes from Lawrence North out of Indianapolis. The 6'7 215 forward was ranked #165 by 247 and had offers from Duquesne, Toledo, Ball State and Evansville. He's Butler's 3rd commit from 2021.

Ryan Nembhard was a "lock" for Florida before his brother transferred to Gonzaga. Florida has a lot of transfers in and out lately.

Marquette add a '21 commit: 6'3 lefty-shooting guard Kameron Jones out of Evangelical Christian School in Memphis, TN.

He's currently ranked 101st on 247 rankings. Jones' other high major offer was Florida so looks like a bit of an under the radar signing.

Interesting that he was a Killings recruit. Totally forgot he's coaching at Marquette now!

More about him:

The CBS college bball podcast said it was likely Killings was going to get head coach buzz very soon.

Three BE teams in for Ben Stanley.

In 35.1 mpg last year, the 6'6 225 sophomore averaged 22p, 7.2r, 1.5b.

6'9 242 sit-one, play three. Averaged 6.0p, 3.8r, 59.4 fg% in 16 mpg his freshman year at Alabama.

Nice to see two Big East teams on his list, but not sure if Xavier or Georgetown are great fits for Davis as he'd have to play behind Freemantle/Wahab for two of his three seasons.

On the flip side, Mississippi State's upcoming starter is a senior and the guy behind him is a developmental prospect. Wake's bigs are all developmental. Bassey probably has one more year at WKU as an NBA prospect who's recovering from a knee injury. Tulane could be attractive as former teammate Jaylen Forbes transferred there and will sit this season.

It's still super early, but also three Big East teams are in the mix with Jordan Hawkins (#49), Georgetown has to be in the mix w/ Ryan Mutombo (#65), Seton Hall has a ball for Jakai Robinson (#75), the good guys for Samson Johnson (#88)...

Nova is going to land Keels as well.

My optimist, but halfway realistic hopes for CU's class.

Already got overall #110 PG Nembhard in the fold.

By all accounts, we are in the Top 3 for #61 PF Mason Miller. Mike Miller's son. Stretch 4 would fit perfectly in our system.

I think we end up landing Tucker DeVries. Not as heralded, a wing at #216. Why I think he ends up in Omaha is he is a 6-5 sharpshooter. We always have one of those guys. Also, his dad was an assistant for Creighton for 17 years so he basically grew up in the program. He could play for his dad at Drake, but he is talented enough to play above the Valley it looks like.

Tamar Bates, hasn't dropped a top 5 or anything yet, but Creighton has been on him for a long time. He is a Ty-Shon Alexander type combo guard ranked #111. He is from the KC area which CU has had a lot of success recruiting from too. He would fit perfectly and get plenty of mins on the wing early.

The longer shot is Hunter Sillas a 5 star ranked #19. He is the hometown kid, highest-ranked recruit out of the city ever. Most around town were assuming he would pick a blue blood, but he has said in an interview recently he is very much considering staying home. I am not confident at all, but we are in play at least.

Now knowing recruiting we will get none of those guys and I will look a fool. This just seems like the way the wind is blowing right now and that class of 4 would be great.

Wow, another big transfer get for Steele.

The 6'6 225 Hampton transfer is a sit-on, play two. Averaged 22p, 7.2r, 1.5b in 35 mpg at Hampton last year. An easy plug into the starting 4 spot in 21/22 with Jason Carter graduating after 20/21.

They just picked up a Crystal Ball for Jalen Warley. Would guess that would push them ahead

Jaylen Warley would be a class completer for Hamilton...I have him going to Virginia, though

Ham needs a PG....Warley is a #4 PG to go alongside the #6 and #9 SG's...and a 7'3 Center (4 star top 75...but a project...needs to add serious weight/strength).

Guy loves to platoon his bigs....Koprivica 7'1", Osborne 6'9", Ballard 6'11", Bultler 7'0", and McLeod 7'3"...
:)
.

Some bigs took notice when 3 star Kabengele, who never started one game at FSU, went first round.

Depaul also picked up a commitment from a guard out of AZ. He has no other offers on 247, maybe he’s a friend of their 4 star commit who plays at hillcrest prep

Georgetown got a commitment from 3 star Jalin Billingsley ranked 177 their 2021 class is 3rd in the big East now with 3 commitments

FWIW, apparently Goodman has a history and a grudge against Mike Anderson. Story I’ve heard goes Mike Anderson took him to the woodshed verbally after some line of questioning when he was at Arkansas. Goodman wasn’t happy about it. Now Goodman trolls SJU whenever he can and is almost always making inappropriate remarks. As far as Traore goes, heard he’s a workhorse motor type guy and Anderson loves those types.

FWIW Goodman is a A-Hat and if he wants to hold a grudge, so be it. But don’t do it at the expense of a HS kid on prob the happiest day of his life. People like Goodman really need to understand the responsibility that comes with their platforms.

Plus, beating out A-10 teams doesn’t mean the kid can’t play it won’t contribute eventually. I don’t know that anybody celebrated fighting off St. Louis for Whaley, but I don’t think you’ll find a single Boneyarder who doesn’t want him on our team next year. It’s one thing to make snarky comments about a school’s recruiting on a message board. It’s another to do it when you’re a prominent college basketball writer.
