Big East Portal Additions

I respect Danny not raiding other Big East teams. However, everyone is doing it. Even McDermott. Puts him at a disadvantage.

McDermott is no longer the Creighton coach
I didn’t realize he had retired. Lost in all the March Madness noise…at least for me.

Oh yeah…..
I kept getting mixed up because they said he will retire “after the season” when they were playing in the Crown (which IMHO if you’re in the crown the season is already over). Initially thought it meant he had one more year.

For context, I've commented a few times that Hurley won't go after Big East portal players, especially SHU guys out of respect for that program. But I guess what that really means is he won't "poach" players like Pitino does--if a guy becomes a free agent who is available to everyone, that's different.

How about these players committing within a day of the portal opening? No tampering here.🤪

No, no, there is no tampering-that's silly talk. All of these players that committed only had conversations with the coaches during or after midnight on Tuesday, April 7th and never before that. These coaches are fast talkers and hard workers to the point they are not sleeping for 1 minute, that's how they can talk to 100 players 24/7 since April 7th and not a minute before that.

We are trying to get Hines on campus.
A LOT to like here and just what the doctor ordered:

Good to see the Big East is losing kids like Acadien Lewis and KJ and picking up random guys off the SEC bottom feeders I've never heard of. Really moving in the right direction.

Byrd was a nice PU by PC.

Providence should be a tourney team if Hodgson is legit. They lost a lot but will have great key players to work with regardless.

Hines recruiting aside, watching Seton Hall and Sha rebuild every single year because of their inability to retain their best players is depressing. They’re getting no returns from what could’ve been a promising follow up to this year.

Otherwise Xavier should improve substantially next year, I like the pickup with LSU’s center. Marquette is the true wild card, have to see how Shaka adjusts. Butler - RIP.

Is he offensively good enough? The defense and shot blocking look great.

That is what I am wondering as well. I think he would be solid portal pickup. I have some other names I think would be better, but I will take that to another thread.
