Can a player win both? Has it ever been done?

Once - Maya Moore. Maya did not win 4 BE POY's - Tina Charles won it Maya's JR year - the same year Tina won NPOY ahead of Maya. UCONN moved to the AAC in 2013 - I think that was Stewie's freshman year, or maybe she spent 1 year in the BE... Interesting side note - after UCONN left, the BE POY looked like this:

Rebecca came with the receipts when talking about Paige as one of the top freshman in the country, during the halftime show of the MSU-Kentucky game (sorry for the poor quality, I had to take a quick snapshot)

The Stewie error was just a small mistake..

The last year of the BigEast was 2012-13 for UConn, which was Stewie’s freshman year. ND won the conference that year beating UConn 3 times before UConn got the payback in the NCAAT.

Interestingly, the following did not win the Big East Freshman of the Year:

Diana (Brunson)

Skylar (Sugar Rodgers)

Stewie (Jewell)

Maya won most awards but was edged out for some--by Candace Parker for NPOY as a freshman and Tina Charles for BE POY and some NPOY awards as a junior. But Maya did win 3 Wade Trophies. Here's the list of the others who won 3 Wades: No one. Lieberman, Augustus, Griner, Stewie, and Sabrina won 2 each.
