Refs should warn both teams in the Cincinnati/Xavier game to cool it. This game is very physical and chippy and we are only 5 minutes into it.

its locked

Xavier is a wrecking crew. This is a top 20 team if Steele doesn't screw it up.

Edit: Freemantle just got a Technical during a timeout. No player should ever get a technical foul. That shows a lack of respect for the coach.

Has anyone had the spaghetti chili monstrosity those weirdos eat?
Yes, skyline chili. Went to a skyline restaurant once and the waitress put a bib on me and placed a heaping plate of what looked like diarrhea in front of me. Disgusting stuff.

Big East - Best Conference in the country. Nova, UConn, Seton Hall, and Xavier are all legit. With Providence having an outside shot to join that group.
If by legit you mean NCAAT potential I would say Creighton, Marq & SJU have a shot at joining that group as well.

There was a real bad incident a few years back between those 2. Refs better know their history.

There's going to be a lot of upsets in the conference this year. My guess is the conference champion has 5 or 6 losses. Nova, Seton Hall, UConn, Xavier and Providence are all worthy of being ranked, and the two supposed weakest teams in the conference beat Oklahoma and Syracuse this week. The only other league comparable from top to bottom is the Big 12.

Returning to the Big East was certainly a YUGE jolt of energy but I didn't think the conference was going to be that exciting, at least compared to the OBE. Guess I was wrong. The OOC wins are great. and the schadenfreude via the old BE members is also abundant.

btw, late night NBC Sports shows the Chess World Championships from Dubai, in case anyone has missed them. Good stiff.

86-22. 21-15 vs. the P5. The goal of 100 wins is now officially out. However, I still think 96 is attainable.

@shizzle787 I admire your high standards. Curious if the NBE ever met your goal of 100.

This year's OOC performance by nearly all Big East members has been impressive. Bodes well for tournament seeding. I believe the Big East is #2 in Torvik. The conference slate in the BE will be a blood bath.

Heck, even DePaul has wins at Louisville and vs Rutgers. Ewing and GTown lost to Dartmouth but beat Syracuse. Good times.

The 2019-20 season the B.E was 101-25** (80.16% WPCT) and the league was #1 NET/#1 RPI that year. but the league never reaped the rewards from that superb season as covid-19 cut it right before the NCAA tourney. The league was likely getting 7/10 team bids that year but we will never know.

This year is looking very close to that one

It's gonna be hard to catch up the B12. That's why the last two match-ups of B.E-B12 Battle are so important

This ranking has zero credibility. It rewards major conference teams for sandbagging their OOC. The NCAA is making a mockery of tournament selection. There was nothing wrong with RPI.

I personally prefer the RPI also. But I seem to be the exception. Most people think the RPI is crappy

My thing is... there is no perfect formula to pick the top 68. The RPI was at the very least transparent and straightforward when it came to its emphasis in W-L and the W-L records of your peers. So there was direct relation of a good RPI to W&Ls...

Now we have an obscure NET formula that we don't even know what goes into it. Makes it so much easier for the NCAA to tweak it in such a way that helps the major conferences and at the end of the day its probably not better than the RPI anyway.

So why get rid of the RPI in the first place? Oh well
