As you might expect with UConn field hockey having won two of the last three national championships and having been to the final four three consecutive years, the Huskies were picked by the Big East coaches to finish first in the conference this coming season. Charlotte Veitner was named the Preseason Offensive Player of the Year, while Anna Middledorf was named Preseason Co-Defensive Player of the Year. Veitner, Middledorf, Casey Umstead, and Nina Klein were all selected to the Preseason All Big East Team.
