Xavier the "almost but not quite" team so far this year. Their last 4 L's have been by a combined 14 points (all by 5 points or less).

Holloway may have to take a step back in order to move forward in his career. Not sure if that means HC at a mid major with some resources, or top Asst at a P4 with resources. Don't see how SH can do anything but crush his career. Poster earlier said it, shoulda left 2 years ago.
You're right, but that would be such a bad look for SHU. Not sure he will be able to do that to his alma mater

His alma mater doesn’t even seem to be trying to play the game. Not doing Holloway any favors.

I posted in November 2023 that Holloway might take an A10 or AAC job if Seton Hall doesn’t start supporting the program. I think he has to leave this offseason or this will be the last head coaching job Holloway ever gets.

I wonder if somewhere, at some level, Seton Hall is not considering downgrading their basketball program. It will never be competitive again at a national level unless something drastic happens.

Halloway is a solid coach, but he happened to desire to go back the Hall and coach but maybe should have done a better job in due diligence as far as NIL is concerned.

Zugic for Creighton still barely playing, was he practicing while waiting to be cleared by the NCAA? given his age/experience I figured he would be right in the mix after all of the hype

I don't think he is game shape at the moment.

didn't last year's Creighton vs SJU game in Omaha end in a similar fashion with a no call on a potential foul?

Cant expect an official to make that call on drive to basket for SJU as time about to expire. Take an open jump shot.

Donny was right in postgame...the first SJU shot should have been the drive to basket and 2nd shot should have been pull up jumper. SJU did just the opposite

I thought RJ Luis should have pulled up from 12 feet and shot it.

Tarris Reed should eat against Marquette. They are lite up front

PC is a terrible basketball team. Hopkins jerking the team around on a comeback. They should be bottom of the conference with Seton Hall. Switch coaches of seton hall and PC and Sha could get so much more out of this PC team. KE must be the most overhyped coach in the BE.

This Providence roster is weak. What is going on with Bryce Hopkins? Bensley Joseph and Wes Cardet can be solid players if they don't get most of the defensive attention, but Hopkins still isn't healthy?

But this game is more credit to Marquette than it is criticism of PC. Marquette is gooooooooooooood

Probably came back too early, he tore his ACL in January 2024 and was back in under a year, colleges are still rushing guys back in under a year while the NBA has gone the other way keeping guys out much longer so they don't have any setbacks.

Now PC is overcorrecting for bringing him back too soon.
This game is Marquette's style at it's best, harassing pressure defense deflecting passes and dribbling and getting steals. Right now it is like taking candy from a baby.
Lik REB1094 said, Bentsley Joseph and Wesley Cardet Jr are good 2nd and 3rd options, but with Hopkins out they are being asked to do more than they were brought in to do.

PC is an entire roster of bench depth. But 5 of them have to play.

Building a roster around one player has always been risky, and Providence is reaping what it sowed. I also think English may not be cut out to coach at this level. Providence has enough shooting to pull off a few upsets, but that team will struggle unless Hopkins returns near 100%, and it is running out of time to save the season.
