I hope they tread lightly on the name change.

As the Big Ten has twelve members while the Big Twelve has ten there is no reason why the Big East cannot be mismatched between the conference's title and makeup. If it were me, I would put of the Pacific in parentheses after Big East but only allow SDSU & Boise to use this as part of the conference logo.

BusinessWeek took that story way out of proportion. Tweaking the name was only a small part of a larger study about re-branding in general, including colors, slogans, logos etc.
