So, the Big 12 starts the week with 5 ranked teams. Oklahoma St and Oklahoma seem legit, but:
10 Kansas St lost to Oklahoma 58-17. One of their wins was 10-7 at home against Eastern Kentucky
16 Texas A&M lost to 3-4 Missouri at home today. Now 5-3.
19 Texas Tech getting clobbered by Iowa St at home. Had a good win at Oklahoma, but other wins are Texas St, New Mexico, Nevada, and Kansas.

Sometimes this happens with conferences being over rated and this year it is the Big 12.

There are 10 teams in the Big 12 this year. The Big 12 will play 9 out of conference games against BCS opponents this year and Iowa St played 2 of them. This is why the teams had good records at the halfway point this year.

Top to bottom, the Big 12 is the best conference in college football this year, and it isn't even close. The entire league has 3 non-conference losses.

Only two Big 12 out of conference games were against teams in the current top 25, Arkansas and Arizona St, and both were losses. Biggest out of conference wins were Kansas St over Miami (4-4) and Oklahoma over Florida St (5-3). SEC is by far the best conference top to bottom.

The 10 team Big12 played 9 out of conference BCS teams. In comparison, the 9 team BE will play 16. The record of the Big 12s out of conference foes, excluding 1AAs is 99-93. Decent, but not great.

SEC is best conference top to bottom and Big 12 does not measure up.

SEC and Big 12 are both awesome. The SEC is down this year, but I'd give them the edge due to Alabama and LSU alone. Those are the two best teams in football this year.

I wouldn't count out Oklahoma State yet, and the trying to choose between the Big 12, SEC and Pac 10 is pointless, it's just a matter of taste.

Scores in the B12 today: 43-0, 41-7, 58-17, 59-24. This is a strong top to bottom conference?

OSU is damn good, but as well as they played today, I don't trust their defense. It's far from a bad defense, but it isn't at the level of Bama or LSU and defense wins championships.

OU and OSU are legitimate top 8 teams. I really like Gundy.
