I don't know if they need UNC to lose. I think UNC is safe regardless. Indiana, tOSU and Boise St have already lost, so there's really no other threat than Texas. I cannot see another team deserving of X's spot.
Boise State is still alive, as are Dayton, Colorado State, UC Irvine in addition to Texas who you mentioned. Agreed that Texas is the real threat though, but UNC is far from a lock

Well, with the Marquette win, along with BYU/Kansas/Gonzaga/Miss St all winning, looking more and more like we are going to win the BET to jump a seed line. I don't sense Nova/Creighton wins moves the needle. Most of those teams are dogs in the next game, but us keeping up or having one more win doesn't do much.

Don't disagree. It was going to take at least getting to the big east final anyway. Kansas losing to Arizona tonight would help.

I think you meant Ole Miss. Miss State plays Missouri tonight.

Ole Miss did win, but they're on the 6 right now and generally out of reach. Miss St won by 30 last night over LSU. We haven't gotten a break anywhere as of now. Need to start preparing for the 8/9. Bracket Matrix just updated and we're moving in the opposite direction as the last 8. Generally checked off the seeding hopes at this point as it doesn't seem in the cards, just going to have to pull for this team one game at a time.

Let's not forget about any potential bid thieves. I'd say Xavier is pretty much either first team out or last team in at this point, hanging on by a thread even if they have a chance. I'd say chances of them getting in now are well below 50/50 considering all possible scenarios. They had to win today - was a tourney game for them.

My bad, though BSU lost already. Might've been looking at last weeks sked!

Hook'em Horns! At worst for th the game should go into OT. Game tied at 73 with 25.9 seconds. Horns ball.

Edit: Overtime

Texas winning may double burst Xavier's bubble.
Put a fork in them. Till next year Sean. Texas went out and beat a top 15 team to get in, Xavier couldn’t. What’s fair is fair.

Texas has talent - if they didn’t have such a bad coach they could be a consistently good team.

Texas is still 4 games under .500 in Q1+2. They're not a shoo-in, though their Q1 wins are nice.

I agree that Xavier is most likely out, but who do we have over them? I get Texas. Indiana? UNC?

The first Depaul fast break encapsulates what I don't understand about Big East officiating. One on one play at the rim and Ashworth jumps, collides with the Depaul players and knocks him down, and no call and Creighton going the other way.
