It's also worth noting that not every player has "WNBA or bust" as their future (at least the immediate future--I think Timea Gardiner has another year to work on her potential pro resume). Some just want to be able to play for a great team and experience a certain level of team success (conference titles, national titles). UCLA seems poised to become a Final Four team this year, and I'm sure a player like Gardiner would feel more satisfaction helping her team win a natty as opposed to putting up huge numbers for a team that isn't going anywhere.Just an opinion on Timea Gardiner: she appears to me to be a little slower this year. All the skills seem to be there, but she might be fighting through a minor injury. I know that she was ill at one point, and was playing limited minutes, but that was awhile ago. In any case, I am hopeful that she "gets up to speed" more as the season wears on. According to all reports, though, she is pretty happy to be at UCLA.
