So, now that we can all breathe and not worry that Paige won’t be eternally the best Husky without a championship, who is it? A look at AP All-Americans suggests that Aaliyah Edwards (3rd team) and Megan Walker (1st team) are contenders. Or perhaps Kerry Bascomb. Others? No disrespect to beloved alumnae of the past who, for whatever reason, didn’t get to cut down the nets. Just something for the Boneyard to ponder.

Gosh, there aren't many to choose from, most of them have a championship. I'd say Bascom, Walker, Williams, and Dangerfield. I really wish Megan Walker hadn't left early, I think we would have won it her senior year with her and Paige.

Swerve I was going to post Azura Stevens because I felt that if she returned, that we might have won #12. So I looked at the roster and box score for the MD game in November of '17 on the UConn Huskies app. She is in the box score as #23 but isn't on the roster. And Napheesa is a freshman...uh no.

  1. Kerry Bascom
  2. Aaliyah Edwards
  3. Nika Muhl
Edwards FTW, followed by Bascom. Edwards is already among the UConn elite stats-wise,and I think she'll end up a better, more accomplished pro than numerous Huskies with rings (KLS, KML, Montgomery, Jefferson, Tuck, Nurse, to name some recent names.)

Peggy Walsh, Laura Lishness, Rita Williams, Charde Houston, Ketia Swanier, Crystal Dangerfield, Megan Walker, Evina Westbrook, Christyn Williams, ONO & Nika Muhl.

Nobody mentions Collier. Did she win a championship that I missed?

I think staying for her senior year would have benefited Megan as well. Even though she had been named a first team All-American as a junior, I felt like she was still developing when she decided to leave. She never got traction in the WNBA (granted, starting in the "Wubble" and contracting COVID at the beginning of her first season probably didn't help). From her Instagram, it looks like she's now playing in Yekaterinburg, Russia. I hope she's happy and healthy.

Yes, I agree. And the extra year would had helped her game development.

I have thought about how Edwards is on the wall but didn’t win a championship. Maybe once enough time has past we will see her name on the wall and assume she was part of the 2025 championship team?

What????

i know she is not technically on the wall yet. I am projecting ahead a little bit here.

Walker is interesting. I think it would have only made sense for her if she was willing to work on putting arc in her 3pt shot and developing her passing skills. I think it came down to Geno saying these are the things and her not willing to put in the work. Just my speculation or it could have. My biggest beef with her was the ball got stuck once it got to her.

Walker was part of a highly rated recruiting class that it’s fair to say gave Geno more agita than any class he ever recruited. Before they ever played a game, they designated themselves the Fantastic 4.

Ultimately, none of them made it to their senior year with 3 transferring out and Walker leaving for the W after her JR season.

I would love to see Walker enshrined among the HOH. Obviously, she earned 1st team AA. But I don’t know whether or not she ever earned her degree. Supposedly, she was working on it after she turned pro. But I never heard that she had completed it.
