The agony of defeat: The finish to last night's Florida game.
The thrill of victory: Our NC game (I was there. To heck with your caveat)

I was in MSG for ISU and MSU, and I have a feeling that will be the best sports experience of my life. So that is my answer, to hell with your "no uconn" restrictions.

Are there "best moments" in sports without UConn? No, especially not when you're a Yankee and Giants fan lol. Maybe my Rangers getting beat in the SC finals but other than April of last year, nothing all that memorable.

I don't consider LeBron returning to Cleveland a "sports moment" so much as a "sports story." It would be among the top sports stories of the year imo, along with Jeter's retirement and the O'Bannon trial; but I think that the NFL domestic and family violence issues--and Goodell's reactions to them--is probably the top sports story of the year. I'm not using "best" because it's not necessarily a good story, but in terms of changing the landscape of sport, I think that has got to be the most influential sports storyline of the year.

As for "sports moments," I think of that more in terms of great sports accomplishments. Obviously, ours is the best. Aside from that, I'll go with Madison Bumgarner's World Series performance, especially Game 7.
