Best pod....Alex Karaban and Jared

What don’t you like about Jared? Seems he does a very good job with his interviews. He’s not working for ESPN or anything professional like that.
Too goofy and comes off immature IMHO and I stress humble. I am not trying to influence anyone else.

I think Jared does a perfectly good job. When he first started he was a bit shaky and amateurish, but he has grown a lot since then. And he wouldn't be getting the quality of guests that he does if he wasn't any good. I think in this age of "gotcha" journalism and hosts going for sensational click-bait headlines, his approach must be refreshing to his high profile guests. Maybe his questions are not "hardball", but there's room for different styles.

That’s exactly why I listen. Overall, I’m not a big fan of podcasts so Jared’s informal style, to me, is the appeal because he’s a “regular guy with a full time job” but he’s worked and hustled his way to build the platform that he’s got.

That being said, Jared is clearly a knowledgeable and passionate fan who’s doing great work promoting not just UConn sports, but CT sports as well.

Keep doing you, Jared.

Jared's pod is the best of all the UConn content because he gets a source on and then asks them Qs and lets them talk. Most often Alex but sometimes an opposing coach, beat writer, etc. This is essentially journalism and it's very useful for informing an audience who can then, in theory, make up their own opinions on x or y.

Compare that to punditry, which is what just about all the other uconn pods do. There are some good ones and I listen to many of them often. But we shouldn't kid ourselves and think that the product is materially different than any of us sitting at a bar top and talking *. It's just opinions, sometimes informed or colored with claim of a source or inside knowledge. It seems like this type of punditry has crowded out most of our news sources, maybe because "hot takes" can generate reactions and clicks.

THANK YOU JARED for presenting information to us through sources and letting us make up our own minds.
