I have not confirmed this, but it sure looks good! I think Ashlynn might get hurt little by being in with the bench players while Azzi and Sarah are on the bench. The point differential is not as good for us when are subs are in.

I'm not surprised, though since BPM is more of a cohort measure it's only indirectly a measure of these individuals. One thing it says for certain is that this group plays really well together.
For a team that has a +/- of 1305 and an avg MOV of 38.4 for the YTD it is also very much a product of minutes played - when the team averages a point a minute MOV, getting more minutes will lead to a larger +/-. Guess which players get the most minutes per game - Azzi 28.2, Ash 26.9, and Sarah 26.3. And yes, Ash gets a higher percentage of those minutes late than the other two, but her +/- is still ticking upward in almost all those games. And she doesn't play the last few minutes the only time when I think the +/- for the team actually goes negative on the year.

I suspect KK would be 4th on the team because she is 4th in minutes - she suffers because she has K9 who is 5th in minutes and is the closest one for one replacement of the starters from the bench.

I’ve tracked the same numbers (and over a season for evidence of “metamorphosis”), below:
  • I think my numbers are accurate (I’ve confirmed total minutes by player with SRCBB’s and confirmed total season points with HerHoopStats’ NetPts after every game this season).
  • I think Per 40 +/- is more descriptive of metamorphisis into “plug and play” “basketball players” (they are now in a narrow band and they weren’t before &1).
  • Note that the Total Per 40 +/- matches HerHoopStats’ NetPts.
  • &1 Below table but for OOC and Big East Schedule and Big East Tournament.
  • Note: Rotation Stint Types explainer.

If I take the numbers above the correlation to minutes is pretty clear and also suggest a clear line between starters and bench. The only ones breaking the mold are Serah who has not gotten 'starter minutes' but benefits from being in that starter role and Blanca whose injuries cut into her minutes but has a +/- per minute above starters Ash and KK. And the range from 1.2 - 0.9 speaks to the teams overall MOV clearly - the average +/- for the team's average player is 0.960/min calculated by dividing total MOV of 1305 by 1360 (34 games times 40 minutes for a single player.
The numbers:
Azzi 958 min, 1091 +/- = 1.139 per minute
Sarah 867 min, 1042 +/- = 1.202 per minute
Ash 914 min, 969 +/- = 1.060
KK 799 min, 823 +/- = 1.030
K9 647 min, 569 +/- = 0.879
Allie 637 min, 560 = 0.879
Serah 587 min, 567 = 0.966
Blanca 520 min, 560 = 1.077

NB Allie and K9 have improved as the season has advanced and have been getting more minutes/game so I wouldn't be surprised if their January - today +/- was better than their season average. (But that might still leave them below the 'average' team player as I think that number may also have advanced.

/I am a huge Ashlynn fan and any stat with her name on it, I respect, 3rd on the team after Sarah and Azzi is fantastic to me.It seems that this stat means a lot and the way Ashlynn plays I would agree she earned it. My next thrill will be when Ashlynn gets her 1000th point in the UTSA game and I will be watching. GO ASHLYNN!!!! GO HUSKIES!!!!!
