Best Covers of Rock Songs

Ok, a couple covers of my favorite song. From the Stones.

Sympathy for the Devil - Natalie Merchant (not sure if it was with the Maniacs or not??)

And Poppy Chubby with a long lead-in to Sympathy. (with a little Snoop Dog and Lou Reed thrown in for good measure)

The Beatles cover of the Isley Brothers Twist and Shout was done in one take because John Lennon was sick with a cold. His raspy voice added a unique quality to the song that has stood the test of time.

Love Mary Ramsey's voice in this rather weird 10,000 Maniacs cover of Brian Ferry/Roxy Music

School of Rock has a lot of fun songs posted. I really like this one. There have been several earlier posts, I really get a kick out of seeing talented young people paying tribute to songs that came out long before they were born.

May be the best cover of this tune I heard. Listen to it regularly.

Another Foxes and Fossils (they have many). Not in a parking lot this time though. From CSN

Suite Judy Blue Eyes

Their first gig. The girls were about 15 and looked a little nervous.
