I respectfully disagree--check out 1:12 of this video

You are correct… it was on Tom Rush’s 1970 album, and on Jackson’s 1973 “For Everyman” (one of my all time favorites), hence my confusion. Tom Rush played for freshman orientation weekend at UConn in 1968 at Jorgensen.

No mention of Foxes and Fossils great covers? Where is the love?

You are the 3rd with an F&F post. See posts #19 and #51. I mean, we could probably fill the thread up with great F&F covers... I'd be ok with it.

Here's one from a a Seattle born artist (although mostly raised in LA). I think this used to be a part of her set regularly. I caught her after a LONG hiatus, she unfortunately didn't play this song (or any of her older stuff, but there's a good explanation and long story behind that).

Aka Allison Sudol. Fun fact she also stars in the Fantastic Beasts movie series. I like her music.

Here's a Heart classic covered masterfully by Alice in Chains (joined by Nancy Wilson) fronted by country singer Gretchen Wilson on vocals at the 2007 VH1 Rock Honors concert. One of the greatest covers ever.

Gretchen shreds the vocals and Jerry Cantrell gives a master class on lead guitar.

I didn't go back thru to count, but not surprisingly lots of Beatles and Dylan popping up. Heart and Metallica also well represented.

A cover of the Soggy Bottom Boys? Probably more like a blind fiddler from KY, Dick Burnett, maybe or maybe just a song that was around. Not originally a "rock" song, but they make it one.

I think I saw another cover of this earlier in the thread. Not Marshall Tucker, but he has a really good Marshall Tucker like voice.

Cool hurricane song. Written by a group of guys. Covered by Leon Helm and more recently Band of Heathens. I like Laine's version.
