Best Comedians You Have Watched

Bill Burr
Norm MacDonald

These two are the reason why Conan is the closest thing left to Johnny Carson as far as letting comedians shine. When Burr or Norm are in the chair and doing their thing, it's better than watching their actual standup. Pretty much every other talk show host steps all over them.

I love Sebastian maniscalco and bill burr. I love Chappelle as a funny guy but I must admit, I don’t usually love his standup. I can’t explain why.

The Beast Sam Kinnison in Rochester. Early 1990's.

.-.
daniel lawrence whitney.
'I don't care who ya are, that's funny right there.'
('in September 2010, Whitney donated $5 million to the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children.
Whitney is a close friend of contemporary comedian Lewis Black, despite their dissimilar political views, background, and comedic material')

I saw Steven Wright in person last summer. He's still telling the same jokes. Still funny but...

Donald Trump and Joe Biden

oh no you didn’t

Jackie Mason . Very witty. He may still be doing it in his late 80's.

Ismo, a newer comedian from Finland who has interesting takes on the English language.

In person, Ron White, Richard Jeni and Steven Wright.

I never saw Geraldo, but I still hear his act about soldiers' letters home then vs. now on TuneIn and I laugh out loud every time.

Connecticut's own Kevin Nealon has always been underrated. Saw him live a couple of times and it's great clean material, he's always been so quick with a great delivery.

.-.
Another comic who died too young:

Bill Hicks. Not afraid to voice his opinion on anything.

Chapelle - monkey/AIDS bit might be the best 5 minutes of comedy of all time.

Burr, Louis CK.
Jeselnik can't keep me entertained for a full special but some of his lines make me laugh harder than anyone else.

All my favorites are already in this thread, but 2 that've always stood out are Sam Kinison and Patrice O'Neal
I love comedians that are willing to "go there", & leave you saying to yourself - He better not go there. Omg, he's going there. I cant believe he went there! LOL

Bill Burr and Bert Kreischer are both hilarious. Ron White is great but I haven’t seen much new from him. Could be I just haven’t seen his newest stuff.

Mitch Hedberg was awesome.

.-.
Saw Jim Breuer and Jim Norton at separate times at the Ridgefield Playhouse a few years back.

Chappelle, Robin Williams, Rodney Dangerfield and Bernie Mac are probably my favorites all-time.

OMG so many Laurel and Hardy, Abbot and Costello, three stooges, Lucille Ball, Rodney Dangerfield, Robin Williams, Richard Pryor, Carol Burnett, Mary Tyler Moore, etc

Jimmy Carr, Chris Rock, Jim Jeffries, Ron White, Louis CK (but I agree, he may be done). I liked Bill Burr, but not so much for his last couple of shows. Chappelle is good as long as he's taking his meds.

if anyone can find it, the bit Norm does on Bob Saget's Comedy Central roast where he does all ridiculously low level, obvious old-timey jokes ... and people in the crowd can't decide whether to laugh or whether he's bombing ... it's one of the funniest things I've ever watched. Me and my buddies still use phrases from that roast, i.e. "no thoughts at all, just a hat."

I've ALWAYS loved Norm - great on Stern, great on SNL, he's just hysterical in that dry way.

Nevermind, I found it:

This is the clip of the actual roast ... the first few minutes, everyone's completely confused and thinks he's bombing. So amazing!

Ladies and Gentlemen, this man is for the birds!

Louis C.K. was on fire for a stretch.. I don't see what others see in Maniscalco, does nothing for me.
Same. Sebastian never wowed me in the least...I just like saying the name Sebastian.
I still say Louis CK is one of the funniest men alive. He needs to do another special, if they’ll let him.

I don't see what others see in Maniscalco, does nothing for me.

Glad you said it. All I get is The Fonz doing open mike night. I'm not on the Fluffy Iglesias train either. John Pinette (yet another who died too soon) did fat guy stuff much better, IMO.

Different strokes for different folks.

In person, Ron White, Richard Jeni and Steven Wright.

I never saw Geraldo, but I still hear his act about soldiers' letters home then vs. now on TuneIn and I laugh out loud every time.

Forgot Steven Wright. He's a niche kind of comedian, but funny as hell.

Never saw him as a stand up comedian, but Adam Sandler has made some hilarious movies. Same for the Pet Detective guy, but I have to admit his stuff got old.
