Zrzyzewski was deservedly number one, but some nice words about Calhoun at number two:

"Final Fours: 4
NCAA titles: 3
Tournament record: 48-17
Overview: It wasn’t a prerequisite that a pugnacious New Englander be the man who transformed Connecticut basketball from a Big East bottom-dweller to its most essential program, but it made it more interesting. Calhoun very well may be the most underrated coach in college basketball history. He won more titles than Dean Smith, just as many as Bob Knight, but he rarely is cited in those “Mount Rushmore” discussions because … because why? Whereas other men won titles and reached Final Fours at North Carolina and Indiana, no one had done it at UConn before Calhoun built the template. If you find yourself in a debate about the greatest college coaches ever and want to prove yourself to be the smartest in the room, you bring up Calhoun’s name and the others will be dismissed."

#2? Nonsense, who's better than the Maker of men?

In all seriousness, I'm not a person who thinks anyone can win the best of the best arguments, but JC is in the mix if only because he won with players who were not ranked as high as other top programs and he molded potential players into NBA talent.
