Benedict and Mora

I don't have the time to grade each tweet or article for quality of info......but there literally a dozen links in these threads with people mentioning Mora's name.
Mora's name being mentioned in an article for an interview != Mora's name getting linked to a coaching opening

Basically, we have heard 0 smoke of the "James Franklin to VA Tech" type

Looking at his timeline that doesn’t appear to be the case.
It is the case. He's a Rutgers fan who lives in Connecticut and he's been wrong about every single thing he tweets about UConn.

Like I said. Look at his timeline he’s been right about plenty particularly when it comes to football.

I agree. But then we heard nothing of the Jim Mora to UConn talk until Jim Mora was announced to UConn.

If it is offered he takes it. The bottom could fall out at JMU at any time, maybe injuries, maybe another team gets hot. Suddenly he’s just another G5 coach.

I sort of know what you mean. But I can’t imagine him turning down Stanford or UCLA.
UCLA job has become coach suicide. Stanford is probably the better of the two jobs since it appears they are now willing to allocate more resources to the football team.

This from the guy who thinks Boston is the best desitination city in the nation for P4 athletes.

Get a grip.

I forgot where I was reading it last night but they talked about 5 best candidates for the Stanford job and Reich was number one. Mentioned how he has done a good job with resources at his disposal and how expectations are low. Also the connection between him and Luck are there as he coached Luck at Indy. Mora was listed at 3 but reasoning was basically he knows the west coast well and has done an amazing job at UConn.

TBH, I feel like the only reason Mora is being linked with these jobs out west is because he is considered a “west coast guy”. He’s done pretty darn well on the east coast at a school with low resources and no conference. His rebuild at UConn gets him in the conversation for these jobs but the main reason you hear for him being a fit for these west coast jobs is that he’s a west coast guy.

UCLA in the B1G is tough...I can't see them really competing for a conference title.

Looks like the twitter rumors are Oregon st is hiring Montana st coach... Stanford, you are on the clock!

The question is has he interviewed for any of these jobs? That is the question the reporters should have asked.

I heard that Oregon St. just lost to UMass in basketball. I'm not sure our west coast friends realize how bad that is.

I've held off on speculating about Mora because I'm worried, really worried. In the last 4 years he's gotten as many wins so far (26) as we had from 2012-2021. He has accomplished what many may consider a miracle turnaround for a team that was so dreadful. Our defense this year isn't as great as last year's, and our offense next year is poised (on paper, due to graduation) to be considerably weaker compared to this year. That's another rebuild with moderate resources against a tougher schedule, and there's no guarantee that our running game will be the same. As much as I want to believe and think Mora wants to continue to fight for/with us, that writing on the wall is looking awfully big. I hope to God I'm wrong. I love what Mora has done for us, and I pray he stays.
Battered Husky Syndrome, borrowed from Texas A&M. Gotta be ready for the sky to fill with ash and fire. 😎
So, what was feared has come to pass and our apocalypse is looming. What is Benedict's next move (assuming Benedict himself is staying with UConn)? We are going to a rebuild of coaching staff and players...like @Chin Diesel's signature, the timing could not have been worse.

Fear not. I went full palindrome.

Mora actually said that UConn would be his likely home till retirement. Of course, things change, but if his goal is to get UConn into a P4; I think that he’ll likely stay till it’s accomplished. And although every coach wants a CFP spot; consider that he’s a now a beloved coach at a cozy program with fans across the northeast corridor—his staff likes him, his players like him, and the university likes him.
sigh

Final Mora post for me:

We all were surprised when AD Dave was able to hire a coach as competent as Jim mora.

Jim mora was surprised at how well he actually was able to do here.

That success opened the door for him to get his “next last job”. You know, like the country song “give me just one more last chance🎶”

I for one will not be surprised if AD Dave is able to one up Jim Mora in his next hire. No, it will not be Joe Moorehead or Nick Saban.

Now, when I first heard this I thought it was a nightmare that I was having. Now, I think Jim Mora got us to a top. I think he wanted to get us into a P4 conference, and he was trying. Now, we can see what a great coaching hire can do. I'd love to see a young coach here. I do not want RE 3.0, PP or BD as a coach. I want an assistant coach from a top P4 team. Would I take Morehead as UConn coach, maybe, but I want someone who will keep us on an upward track.

Ole Miss is a higher tier than Penn St?

Clemson, Auburn, Oregon, Wisconsin & FSU are on a similar tier?

Maybe you should go back on your meds.
Still think Penn st is a class above the rest?

What a botch job this hiring process has been for them. And they had the biggest head start! LMFAO
