Ollie needs to teach him a lesson. If you don't pass you don't play. His selfishness is out of control
Agreed. Making a wide open three might help. Or just any shot. If you don't pass, you better make a damn shot .Agreed and we really need to work on shot selection.
It is not just his shooting. He has the ball on a 3 on 1 fastbreak and insists on taking it himself and causing a turnover. He needs to step up his game mentally! You want him to pass with shot clock running down? Crazy.
His shot is off tonight. It happens. You can't say his shots haven't been wide open. He's cold.
Thank youIt is not just his shooting. He has the ball on a 3 on 1 fastbreak and insists on taking it himself and causing a turnover. He needs to step up his game mentally!
I was screaming at the TV after that one. Very selfish play. Even my 12 year old son was yelling for Omar to give up the ball.It is not just his shooting. He has the ball on a 3 on 1 fastbreak and insists on taking it himself and causing a turnover. He needs to step up his game mentally!
I'm not convinced that it is selfishness though...rather lack of confidence in his own ability to dribble and pass.I was screaming at the TV after that one. Very selfish play. Even my 12 year old son was yelling for Omar to give up the ball.
I didn't see that as selfish, he thought he'd have the best chance of scoring by not passing. Ya it got stripped and we can say the other guy would have had a layup had omar passed, but at some point you have to keep a defender honest by taking the ball to the rack yourself ya know?I was screaming at the TV after that one. Very selfish play. Even my 12 year old son was yelling for Omar to give up the ball.
This may be Ollie's plan at crunch time.If Niels were to get some additional early minutes, he might be able to knock in a couple of threes and set us up for success.
I like Kromah and Niels in during winning time on defense with Boat subbing in on offense.
when we are running plays to get Olander open in the corner vs Giffey, Calhoun, or Boathright, something is off.I don't really want to see Olander stepping out trying 3's.

That said, Olander had a better chance of hitting that shot than Calhoun hitting the broadside of a barn last night.
I don't know if its just me but I feel like every time UConn plays in NYC Calhoun comes out super tight. Feel like he always starts terribly. Maybe the moment gets to him as he's a "hometown" boy? He just never recovered last night. A little confidence goes a long way. (See Giffey)
