best wishes to her. last season showed that the portal winners dont always turn out, so i’m not worried

thats probably a good thing. we are VERY VERY deep and competitive. Adding her for a year or maybe she has 2 left. Would for sure make some transfers happen. We dont wanna be a school that over recruits. Just look at Duke mens basketball. Every year they keep losing mountains of players. And thats why they cant make a deep tourney run. no experience they rely all on 5 star frosh. LETS GO UCONN!!!!!

Would have been too easy to have her for a season. Now our bigs will have more opps and reason to hit their potential to Natty up.
Would love to hear from hoopsnloops32 expound on her other post "there are lots of rumors of maybe some beliefs Beers holds that might be harmful or problematic to the players currently on the team"

Good luck to Raegan Beers!

As far as UConn, they simply need to seek out and come to terms with another big with the understanding that scoring is not likely going to be a problem for the team next season. There are other 'big' fish in the pond!

That's the way the PORTAL bounces. Littleton, Colorado (Home of Reagan) to
Norman (HOME of U of Oklahoma) is 706 miles by interstate, 9 hours and 34 minutes.
And 676 miles by way of DODGE CITY! (9 hours and 56 minutes). I did not bother to
check STORRS. BEST WISHES TO THE YOUNG LADY!
About the distance from Columbia SC to Storrs, so not that close to home.

Disappointed, but good luck to Raegan. She will get to mix it up now with SC and LSU quite often. Should be some good battles.

Won't make them a contender yet, but pretty much locks in 2 years of top 16 and a nice entry to SEC.

Curious about any oversees prospects? Be real we have little to no proven post players and if we go small Aubrey is experienced but we have no idea about how well she will be after a major injury. Until proven otherwise we have a weakness. We may still win it all but there should be some concern at the 4 and 5.

Not to mention Texas with the recent addition of Oldacre to go along with Aaliyah Moore.

Congratulations and best wishes to her next chapter.
I'm disappointed another post players turned us down. But I didn't think she fit our style of play.

This sounds like a wake. Cheer up BY'ers. Raegan Beers is where she should be (ie Who knows what went into her decision; there could be many reasons that are personal to her and her family that we will never be privy to) but, come on, overall we are just fine. There is much for UConn fans to be thankful for. We have a NC contender team despite all the grumbling about the 5 position. Jana will be ready and will be a force to be reckoned with in the paint and will have some excellent backup.

Then there's the 1,2,3 and 4 positions that can stack up against anyone. Yes, there are always naysayers that tell us that there will be several coming off injuries and will need to take it slow. True. So? This team was one terrible call and a basket from going to the NC. There is added experience at the 1 and new, exciting AA recruits/returning shooters besides one of if not the best players in America at the 2/3 who will be hellbent on going all the way. We added the #1 recruit at the 3/4 position. There will be backup at the 5. To me the upcoming season has all the makings of a 12th NC run (knocking on wood - or not).

Let's wish Raegan the best of luck and move on. Next?

You can't use the men's BB as a comparison, as they have the one and done then to the Pro's. Look at UConn men's. 3 to the pros and 3 to the portal. The best men's players play a year and turn pro, the others look for the best place to shine for one year, still with the hope to then turn pro. Unfortunately it is a revolving door... so nice that the women's BB stayed away from this so we can all enjoy our favorites for a while.

Best of luck to her. This one was kind of obvious a week ago though. We were never more than just a tire kicked and backup plan.

I agree--that is a very loaded statement that requires a little more substantive explanation. "Harmful and problematic" might be a tad bit strong. But this seems to be cropping up quite a bit. I wonder whether this perception possibly stems from Beers having attended Valor Christian in Highlands Ranch, CO-- a private conversative HS there.

Can we get on with life now?

I was sick of hearing about her anyway. She chose the easy road and God bless her. If you can't take the heat of going for a NC and don't want to play with the best point guard in the country, then Oklahoma is the right place. Just be careful of the tornados. LOL. Good luck to her.
