Heard a commercial on radio last evening between innings of the Yankees game of a benefit beerfest & concert on Saturday, May 11th at the RENT. I went to one last May, & it was a blast. Thinking that I'll have to check it out & try some new brews. They also said that Hartford area lunch wagons would be catering the food. Sausage & pepper grinders washed down by nectar of the gods. I'm in tailgate mode just thinking about it.

The only think missing is the PA announcer announcing the starting line up.

Why pay for a beerfest at the Rent? There is a free one before and after every home game!

looking over that list, there are a lot of favorites represented. For those of you who are novices: My wife's family is of Scottish descent. They are the Nelson family of Clan Gunn. As a result, I've imbibed many of Widmer Brewing's Nelson Imperial IPA & the Innis & Gunn Brewery's Rum Cask & Oak Cask varieties. Tasty & potent. Enjoy.

I really enjoyed myself last year, but I'm a little uncertain if I'm going this year. I absolutely love most of the beer, but suddenly finding yourself hammered in central CT and needing to get back to New Haven is a tough situation. At least on game days I usually have most of the game to sober up.

I'm pulling for metro north to Hartford or springfield. How great would that be.

Holy then I could just drink the whole way up. Of course, we all know how it would end.

Really excited for this. Buddy's girlfriend has a van and owes him a sober driving event. Went last year and had an outrageous time.

Looking at the list, definitely try any of the Abita brews. Great brewery from Louisiana. Especially is they have the seasonal Strawberry. A great summer backyard cookout beverage.

Also, Southern Tier and Red Hook.

I will vouch for Widmer's as well.

Also, if anyone can sample of vouch for Goose Island, yell it out.

Looks like a couple of the local distributors have gotten their hands on it and it's starting to show up in stores here in the panhandle of Florida.

If you can take out a few clowns, it would make up for missing the Beerfest. And by "take out" I mean.....kill them dead.

Goose Island is pretty awesome. 312 and Honkers are standouts. Great thing about these beerfests is breweries sampling out there random stuff that is usually great.

Thanks. I just saw their summer ale at Wall Mart while wandering around waiting for an oil change.

Also, I had some Shiner Bock Ruby Red on tap last night. That was damn good.

Goose Island is solid beer. They have a place down the street from Wrigley and went there after a Cubs game. Wife and I left and were glad we were taking the L back to the hotel. I'm a big fan of the 312. Highly recommend picking some up.
