I don't follow the BY that closely, so I apologize if this has been discussed elsewhere, but has any team in tournament history ever beaten 3 of the 4 number 1 seeds. In fact, you could almost say that if Uconn beats SC they'll have beaten all 4 1-seeds, since they'll have beaten the team that just took out the other 1-seed.

I was just wondering the same thing when I spotted your post. I found that it happened on the men's side in 1997. The Arizona Wildcats beat three number one seeds: Kansas, North Carolina, and Kentucky (the final) to win the championship.

Yes, if UConn wins they’ll be the 4th team to take out three #1 seeds.

Welcome aboard, hope you enjoy the Boneyard as much as I have. I believe it is one of the most knowledgeable women's boards in existence.
