Congrats to Ayanna. No offense to Ayanna Townsend and her Big East scholar-athlete of the year, but it seems to me that conferences add on more and more of these awards. Here is my list for additional Big East Awards and suggested winners. UCONN bias intentional.

  1. Best Graduate Transfer from Hungary: Dorka Juhász
  2. Most Likely To End Up On The Floor For A Loose Ball: Nika Mühl
  3. Most Likely To Give A Black Eye: Nika Mühl / Aneesah Morrow (Tie)
  4. Most Likely To Get A Black Eye: Nika Mühl
  5. Best Textbook Shot: Azzi Fudd
  6. Best Hair: Aneesah Morrow (Honorable Mention: Aaliyah Edwards)
  7. Most Media Mentions For A Sidelined Player: Paige Bueckers
  8. Best Bench Cheerleader: Paige Bueckers
  9. Best Player to finish this sentence: "Thank God For..." : Caroline Ducharme
  10. Player Most likely to smile: Christyn Williams
  11. Player Most Likely to make you smile: Christyn Williams
  12. Best Postgame TV Interview: Christyn Williams ("Really, I set a record for steals!")
  13. Player Most Likely To Get Their Name Mispronounced By An Announcer: Olivia Nelson-Ododa
  14. Sweetest Moment: Teammates Escorting Dorka Juhász on Senior Night
Any Others?

Past winners include Maya Moore in 2010 and 2011, Allie Quigley in 2008, and Megan Duffy in 2006.
Mighty heady company. I've always loved scholar-athlete awards... congrats to Ayanna.

It’s been a Big East award for decades.

I believe Liv deserves 1st team recognition
It doubtful if Liv gets 1st or even second team BE recognition. Not that I agree with this logic, but last year the league simply took the top scorer in the league to be on the BE all conference teams. Liv is only averaging 10PPG that is only 5th best on UCONN. It is also not looking good for Liv as the conference DPOY ( she was Co-defensive POY last season). The main reason s that Morrow is among the nation leaders in rebounding and steals. It might be a very sparse year for UCONN with these awards. CW will make 1st team all BE. Beyond that there are a lot of questions marks due to the multiple injuries. For Example I'm not sure if Azzi qualifies for BE all Freshman team because she has only played in 16 games.

A lot of what Liv does doesn’t show up on a stats sheet, like Evina.
