I've always liked and respected Notre Dame.....they aren't any where near Rutgers. The players may have "tudes" but the don't play hack bball......
I don't know what you mean by "hack bball" but Notre Dame was very, very physical today. CD said on the radio after the game that Mallory - quote "beat the crap out of Kaleena" end quote.

Don't see much class with this ND group at ALL. In fact, the past several years at least, I'd put them in with the likes of Stringer's teams and, more recently, the Orange and G'town. As a Protestant kid growing up, I was a huge ND football fan and loved listening to them on the radio. Continue to this day to follow, support, and enjoy their football - but, from Little Miss Muffett on down, there is no one on that basketball club that I care for.........though I do admire their skills and their toughness and their confidence......not so the hacking, blatant shoving, etc. MIGHTY glad we took em.

I basically have no problem with the ND players. I have a big problem with ND's arrogance in athletics and they can't lose too often for me, maybe even more than that Southern school (okay, a tie). They could have saved the Big East football conference and none of these musical conference chairs would have happened. Why should they do that when they make so much money off of their independent fb program? Because the BE saved them from having to be independent and irrelevant in their other sports. Or maybe CUSA or the Mid-America would take them without their football. Muffett would love it there, no UConn in the way.

As for those who say ND is the better team this year , it isn't all that clear. They could have, and maybe should have, lost the first game.

Hack and physical are always different things. Boding up, checking, and setting hard picks are all physical, very physical at times. Hacking is slap and grab.

My dad always said...you dislike the most in others that which you dislike most about yourself.
He also used to say to not treat someone in any way that you would not want someone to treat you.

In conclusion, if you find that the opposition is behaving in a way you don't like....don't emulate that behavoir.

I instinctively pull against Notre Dame in all sports, mainly because (especially in football, of course) the media is so in love with their "legend" that they're always ready to annoint them in the rankings way beyond the level they deserve. So, it feels GREAT to me whenever we beat them, and devastating to lose to them. Having said all of that, anyone who doesn't recognize the talent of their current women"s basketball team just doesn't know the game...I'm beyond thrilled that we won...but the ND girls are warriors...they fight hard, and play very physically. One cannot blame them for hating to lose, because they obviously fight hard to win...part of what comes with that territory is arrogance and swagger. If you can walk the walk, and they do, they can carry that off.

I agree with your pops... thats why I dont understand the bickering back and forth between the board by elderly men and women.

I think there is something to those who have observed that there is a sense of entitlement with some of the ND players. If you watch players off the ball after a missed shot attempt it is either Mallory or Diggins lobbying the refs and complaining at the no-call for contact. Or you will see Novosel gesturing with her hands and body language "what no call". They know that the notion that every time they drive to the basket if it doesn't end in points then there must have been contact has worked for them...so they continually milk it. Peters and Mallory have become quite adept at flopping...touch them and they fall as if they have been catapulted from a cannon...it is actually funny to watch sometimes. On the other hand, Diggins, McBride and Mallory are constantly using their off hand to push people away...AND THEY CONSTANTLY GET AWAY WITH IT! Tonight 12,000 people expressed their displeasure with the zebras with their no-call after Diggins shooed the defender away with the off hand. Watch Peter's she has the disposition of the wicked witch of the East and borders on nasty. Speaking of getting away with it...I don't believe I have ever seen a team get away with reach in fouls as often as I have seen Notre Dame this season. All that being said of all of them McBride is the cleanest of the starters, she is very poised and has a very quiet strength about her. Man for man I believe Notre Dame is very talented and may beat Baylor this year. I believe we are looking at the following Baylor (1), Stanford (2), UConn (3), Notre Dame (4). If this is true then I am guessing that if all the teams get to the final four that it will be Notre Dame vs Baylor and UConn vs Stanford in the semi-finals. And, it could be a fourth meeting between UConn and Notre Dame in finals...I do not look forward to that match-up...as it will be a war. The good news is after tonight our kids now believe they can win that war.

I am extremely glad to see Novosel, Peters and Mallory go...can't wait to see Diggins whining to the referees next year when they are not there to bail her out.

Could not have said it better, cf. The defender was Tiff when Diggins swiped away her arm which was not even touching but just out in the air. The crowd reaction was great and highlighted the ridiculousness of the call.
