SEC-6
B12-4
PAC-3
TCU-2
BE-1

Note add TCU to B12 and they tie the SEC with 6 apiece.

Ala. leads with 3, Texas, Stanford and TCU with 2 apiece. 6 teams with 1.

Surprise no B10 schools and as expected no ACC teams.

Also if you land a top QB, Luck, your team can rise to the top very quickly.

Pat White would be another example. It also helped that he had Slaton with him.

I think the B1G hasn't had a NC caliber team in a while but, it is more competative top to bottom than the SEC's 2+whatever. Really, if two conference teams go 12-0 and 11-1 only losing to the 12-0 team, how tough can the rest of the conference be?

Looks like 12-0 or bust for the NNBE and the NACC.

Trouble is that if there was a 4 team playoff during those years with a "selection" committee picking the 4 teams the teams selected from certain conferences would look much different. IE; More BIG 5 Less Others.
