Hmmmm... Granted, Denver has been making some noise... but hmmm.... Of course, there ain't a lot of head coaches out there to draw from -- but maybe some strong assistants. Talk is Tsipsis of ND is off to George Washington.

Is it my imagination, or is the pendulum swinging back towards male coaches? I think we went through a period where an emphasis was placed on hiring female coaches for female players. Now it seems more males are getting hired.

Personally, I believe the best person available, male or female, should be hired. Sometimes winning trumps political correctness.

Talk of Tsipsis' replacement on the ND bench in the SBT includes alums Megan Duffy (currently a SJU asst) and Beth Morgan Cunningham (currently HC at VCU), though Muffet claims she will not necessarily look for a former ND player.

"Political Correctness" is not about doing things blindly, but recognizing you might be blind about some things -- as in the tendency to look at the old boys network first. And second. And third.

It takes a little work to find quality coaches -- either male or female. Sometimes is takes a little risk. Sometimes that risk pays off (St. John's) sometimes that risk doesn't (George Washington).

IIRC, GW promoted an assistant. Their prior hire of Jumping Joe proved excellent - of course he did have a track record at New Mexico and maybe somewhere else too.

I have heard he is very pleased with Northwestern for its ability to care for his autistic child, but I wonder how happy he is about progress on the court.

The AD at BCU has had a succession of poor hires of mens and women coaches going back 5 years.
