BC Post Game Thread

Jim Mora has taken this team over what felt like an insurmountable mountain. I know it’s just BC, but beating the team you can arguably point at for our conference woes feels really good.

Jim was the perfect man for this job. Very proud of how far this team and program has come under him and AD David Benedict. Keep it going fellas!!!!

man... is there a chance to get to 10 wins including the bowl???
I simply don't see us beating duke, unfortunately, but man if we can run the table otherwise, and then pull off the bowl win, how good would 10-3 look in our resume?

oh, to hope.

i said this in the game chat, though the chat disagreed w me. if he goes 21 TDs/ 0 interceptions or something, and gets a senior bowl (or similar event) invite and impresses, I dont' see it as impossible that someone takes a chance on him in the 7th round.

a lot of the "right" things would have to happen, for the recipe to be there, which is what makes it unlikely.
But not impossible.

Hopeful!
Him being in his 7th year and his age hurt his chances.

from the bc interruption chat

"If the ACC were smart, they would dump Boston College and add UConn. UConn is much more serious about athletics than is BC. If UConn were in the ACC and BC were not, UConn would be a competitive ACC team within a couple of years, and their basketball program is obviously light years ahead of that of Boston College. Their women’s basketball program is nationally recognized, and even their baseball program is better than BC’s. BC is not serious about any sport other than probably hockey - and even in hockey, UConn is now competitive with them. Also, UConn is a state flagship University, and as such is much better positioned to be more of a player in FBS then is a relatively small private Catholic school like Boston College."

Veteran backup QBs are not cheap. Joe has shown he's a pretty good game manager, can make most of the throws, doesn't turn it over, isn't fragile, and now that he's using his legs, there's a bit of added value. It's not hard to envision him in either 7th round or signed as an undrafted FA.

Can we agree JF is quite excellent recently. Kid is on fire.

Yes, and forget the throwing, which is stellar. He’s making big, important plays with his feet. That’s just huge. If he had the confidence to run earlier in the season, we beat Cuse and Delaware. He’s so much better now. His running just keeps getting better too. More decisive, more assertive and more opportunistic. Just a huge improvement in mindset.

agree fully, i see this ^ as his ceiling. and you know what, that's ok. we need more UConn skill position players in the league, in any capacity.

God this feels good. I feel like I'm getting the high I was robbed of after the Syracuse game, lol.

Can always nitpick and focus on the negatives. No need to do that here, we discussed those enough in the game chat and I'm sure the coaching staff will keep working to get things corrected.

Just a great win for the boys. Joe F has been looking like an absolute stud the past 2 weeks. Cam is a monster with the heart of a lion, I have so much respect for anyone who plays as hard as he did while banged up today. But what's crazy to me, is I've come to expect this type of play from him regardless of how healthy he is. He plays with so much heart, and you can tell he really cares about repping the state. Bell just makes big play after big play, and you can tell also really cares about the program/university. Again, we are incredibly lucky to have all 3 of them here. I will miss them all once they graduate.

We FINALLY got that ACC road win! Let's keep it rolling, winning one game at a time. Then do the same thing to Duke!
