Curious if ETT saw the game. Griner her usual self with 24 points. Sims 11 and 8 (assists). Pope started but only played 9 minutes while Williams played 21 minutes. Was Pope hurt or just not doing what Mulkey wanted?

Also noticed no Prince in the game. is she injured? Can't tell much from the numbers, but not including Destiny Williams, who did not start, the bench "only" scored 12 points. I'm sure that will change with Prince plays. Solid 80-34 win for the #1 team in the nation to start the season... ETT - thoughts on the game?

I saw the game. Baylor looked a little off offensively. Griner looked like Griner. Didn't see anything new there. As tough as ever. Sims was great on defense. A little off kilter on offense. Madden and Hayden played their usual games.

Not sure about Pope. She did this alot last year too. Williams and Tuck are going to be fun to watch when they meet. Similar bodies and tough minded players.

Prince has a stress reaction in her foot. She has started to practice according to the announcers.

I was not overly impressed with the explosive Chandler and the underrated Higgins.

I would bet that Baylor will only go 7 deep against UConn. Sims, Griner, Madden, Hayden, Williams, Pope and Prince if healthy.

I agree that at this point in time,a healthy Prince gives them 7 deep against us! Chandler is talked about as explosive? and Higgins underated! Chandler is a RS JR with an ACL that occured in her SO year 2010-2011 and carried over to 2011-2012! Higgins not impressive especially as quality of teams improves!

The top 6 scored 68 of the 80 points and 31 rebs of 39 in 128 mins! So not much from the bench! Griner was Griner 24 points and could have had more. The D was there especially in 2nd half. 40-25 ist half 40 -9 2nd half! Similar to our last exib game! The difference was the offense! T/Os 28 -15 Baylor! You would have expected higher point total!

Prince has not played due to stress fracture in her foot, but may be practicing! Her status is something easttexas should know more about!

I am sure we will be following them closely all season!

Mulkey on Pope, since she has been mentioned a couple of times. I'm not sure what Pope did in the off-season to improve her finishing ability around the basket but it's like night and day from last year.

“We won. I am always pleased when we win and I could also tell you two players who really played well; Brooklyn Pope, besides the two fouls that forced her to sit most of the first half. I have asked Brooklyn to do three things: offensive rebound and she started off the game with one; she has to finish under the basket, and she was four-for-five today; and also she has to hit her free throws and she did that today. I was really pleased with Brooklyn today; I wished I had given her more minutes today."

The most disappointing performance of the day was Nae Nae Hayden. She took some terrible shots very early in the shot clock and although not named in Mulkey's interview, Mulkey said that there was some "selfish" play, and that was surely directed at Hayden. Quite frankly, I wouldn't be surprised to see her not start against Kentucky just to send a message.
