Baylor ranking

While I do not think it will happen, it is not inconceivable that voters will look at Baylor in 7th and MD in 6th and conclude that Baylor looked better against UConn than MD, and switch them.

As I said, it is unlikely to happen, but as a thought experiment, if Baylor were in 6th ahead of MD, would there be any reason to move them down?

I'd love to see it happen, just for the cool aspect of a team losing and moving up, because it was a quality loss.

Hey - it might change some coach's unwillingness to schedule UConn in the future. Makes it a win-win situation.

Can't see how losing to UCONN should hurt them. But I agree that they will not be moved over a team that didn't lose this week.

The inconvenient point for Baylor is that MD has a "good road win" over UNC (T10 team), while Baylor's best win at WV is likely not seen as being quite as good, though WV is getting closer to UNC in most ratings. Some ratings now say Baylor has had a tougher schedule than MD, but they basically have two home losses to MD's 1 (yes I know the KY game in Dallas is technically considered a neutral court game, but that's a joke).

Sagarin: MD: 6 and 173, Baylor: 10 and 207
Massey: MD: 6 and 30, Baylor: 7 and 21
Nolan: MD: 8 and 86, Baylor: 14 and 64

Personally, I prefer the Massey way of computing SOS, but it is what it is and Baylor still is listed at a 200+ SOS in Sagarin.
