Yeah, like mau has said, between our posts, congrats on the win, but it's hard to root for UMass considering everything mau has said above, and your lies regarding Wiggins, which were unprovoked by anyone on this board.
To get back to civil talk, I watched CSI between 8-9 (one of the few TV programs I watch) I checked on the score at intermissions, and turned it on @ 9PM to watch the final 3 minutes.
My comment is, Drexel's gym is very small. I know they had a higher seed than UMass, but the NIT is all about money. Why wasn't the game scheduled at Mullins.
In D-1 football a school needs a 30K seat stadium with an average of 20K per game to maintain it's status. Most schools in D-1 meet this criteria. A few MAC schools don't, but the NCAA turns it's back.
Point being, their should be simliar requirements in hoops for D-1. Drexel's gym is a glorifyed HS gym. Seton Hall's is too, but the BE forces them to play in Newark's new arena. I would think if a school wishes to be D-1 they should have a 6k seat gym with minimum average attendance of at least 4,500. Otherwise drop down to D-2

I don't understand your question or your preoccupation with size. Anyways, since the home team gets all, if not, a large portion of the gate sales, the size of the venue doesn't really matter. Niether school has corporate sponsorship, such as the Cintas Center in Cincinnati. The revenue comes from ESPN and their sponsors. Since the NIT is still a national tournament featuring good basketball teams, they air this on their flagship station. All occuring at times they won't be competing with the NCAA on CBS. The womens NCAA takes the back seat for now on the ESPN 2 because the market is bigger form mens cbb regardless of which tournament. The Pru had a Devils home game scheduled for Saturday so we got the SHU gym.

I really don't know what you're getting at but I'm sure it's a subtle dig at Umass or Umess, if that pleases you. But this raises a question of my own, why aren't you playing anymore at the XL Center. Is the Connecticut market shrinking or something?

If I were to dig UMass/UMess it wouldn't be so subtile. I just believe that if a school wishes to be D-1 in hoops, some guidelines, like football has, should be required. No need to try to make this a preoccupation with size. Either you are sufficent with a commitment or you aren't. Many hoop teams will have 800, or so, in the gym for a regular season game. Including Quinnipiac & SHU. That shouldn't be D-1
As far s UConn and the XL center, that's a rumor only. I'm not even sure how that started. Regarding the CT market, only a UMass/UMess fan like yourself would hope that this hoop market shrinks. Now go out and find Wiggins barber so you can expand the CT rumor market.
