Battle for the east seed

If USF would ever play Gonzaga on campus again instead of at Chase Center seemingly every year now, they'd have a lot better shot of an upset too
Does SF even draw well at Chase? I'm imagining a lot of Zags fans and empty seats

Yeah I think it ends up being more of a Gonzaga home game than anything, but I'd think it has to be financially worthwhile for USF to keep doing it. They must be getting a sweet rate for renting the venue for a night or selling 8-10k tickets even for the cost of the rental is still more profitable than selling out their 3k seat campus gym for that game.

This year is the last time they'll get to do it so best take advantage of it while they still can.

Our first 2 games would be In philly. We don’t want to be in the south and end up playing Houston in Houston as rothstein mentioned is possible. Would love that for Duke though.
If it comes down to Duke or Uconn to go play in the south in Houston vs Houston the committee will go with Uconn. Look at what they did in `24 putting Auburn as the #3(?) seed in the East when it shouldve been Duke. When asked about this by the CBS crew in an interview a committee member gave such a terrible response the blank look on their faces was apparent and afterwards they clearly said they didnt get the decision. Its easy. The committee protected duke from getting blown out by Uconn on national tv against that buzzsaw `24 team that destroyed the field for a second consecutive year.

Agreed. Nobody is going to lose less than 2 games and probably 3 games in the Big XII or Big Ten. Duke isn't going undefeated in the ACC. UConn has the easiest schedule left of all the top 10 teams and we probably aren't going undefeated either.
Gonzaga?

It was 2 ISU 3 Illinois 4 Auburn but yes I agree with the sentiment. Can’t leave it up to the committee, force their hand.

Hard to predict what's going to happen with Florida and Alabama, if they come back into the picture at all. But if they don't...

I'd expect UConn in the EAST, Michigan in the MIDWEST, Arizona is WEST, and Duke is SOUTH.

Like UConn, Duke is playing watered down competition in the conference.

Only thing that would give me pause is that the EAST regional is in DC (so closer to Duke) while the SOUTH regional is all the way in Houston.

Whatever happens, UConn starts in Buffalo.
If UConn draws the South regional, I am NOT throwing a party if we somehow make the sweet 16.
