Illinois is currently 5-5 against a very tough schedule. They just beat a very tough Oregon team and have toppled St. John's twice this year. They lost close games to Notre Dame and Louisville.

Oregon State is really good. They beat us 2-0 last year, though we outplayed them after the 1st inning.

We play a beatable Oregon team tomorrow and an alright Seattle team on Monday. A 3-2 trip would be a really good result and we're off to a good start.

Lifeless...need to upset OSU tonight. We were thrown off by two lightly recruited freshman pitchers.

We beat nationally ranked Oklahoma last night and the line-up and batting order changes for this game. We start Butler again as our #2 and he gives up 4 earned in 4 innings. Pavone catches another game and probably the second end of the doubleheader. We lose 5-1 to an un-ranked team, I don't get it.

We are playing a ton of freshman tonight, as is Oregon State. Healey got us out of a jam nicely in the bottom of the 4th.

3-2 Oregon State...5th inning.

We are facing a pitcher who was a stud as a freshman, but underwent Tommy John surgery as a sophomore and we are getting to him. 3-3 in the 6th.

Mazzilli goes yard! 5-3 UConn! We have only struck out twice, while OSU has struck out 7 times.

I'd call Hit By Pitches self-inflicted wounds, but we are actually wounding them whilst choking the game away.

If only we could play ranked teams every day. I fully expect to blast Oregon tomorrow and lose to Seattle on Monday.

We have one inning to go...we lead 6-3. Let's add a few runs here...I still remember Mississippi State and Oklahoma.

Terrific win. 6-3 final, avenging last year's loss. Do the same to Oregon and we likely win the tournament (Illinois lost badly to Oregon State and will probably lose tomorrow).

Illinois and Oklahoma both took out Oregon. We can do the same. We hit well and fielded well, but hit 5 of their batters...that cannot happen again.
