Hi, younger fan here who missed 90s and most of 2000s. What was up with all the bald college kids back in the day? For us, we had guys like Rip, Ricky Moore, etc. Why’d it happen? Where’d it go?
 
Most well known bald college player had to be Gtown's Michael Graham.

I think the a big chunk of the team did it before the tourney, either 98 or 99 (think it was actually 98)

If I had hair like Mufasa when I was in college I wouldn’t have shaved it either.

A friend of mine directed a few of those Early 90’s Onyx music videos!
 
2008-2009 we had a few players go with mohawks to start the season. I’d like to see the Liberty Spikes come back myself.

I circled back to Like this after reading 20 Comments.

The original post went up a couple hours before what would have been the NC tip-off, if not for the pandemic.
 
Scott Burrell was the first Husky I remember with a shaved head. I remember going to a game in Miami where Miami U was honoring their NCAA football champions. All the Miami football players were calling Scott "onion head". I think he dropped 30 points on them that night. Shut them all up ...

Nerd alert: I remember one college basketball video game, I think College Hoops 2K3, had a feature where some entire teams would Bic their heads for the NCAA tournament. It was pretty funny and a cool little detail.
 
BYU also always has a couple baldys bc they’re all like 28 years old.
