Balance and Dominance

Might push us to KenPom number one offense, we were only like .4 behind
It takes a lot to move the numbers in one game, so we'll see.

Interestingly, besides #1 Purdue, the rest of the top 6 on KenPom O (Bama, Baylor, Illinois, Kentucky) are all dreadful defensively. It is rare to be this good on offense and to also be this stout on D.

And even when it is 1-on-1, it's Castle making controlled drives into the lane and finishing through smaller defenders.
Exactly, and after you rack up the assists teams start to expect the pass leaving which gives Castle, Newton, Karaban the freedom to drive drive to the basket when the lane opens up and they have a mismatch.

Someone is going to yell at me for making the following point following a 27 point win in the tourney, but I do not care: I have been on record saying that we are the best team. There is no team in the country that can match us. HOWEVER, we can certainly beat ourselves. I am seeing a troublesome trend of missing layups. And not just one layup. But 8 plus missed lay ups per game. You can get away with that nonsense against mid tier opposition. But we have to clean that up. We are better than that.

He does have a nice looking stroke and size. Maybe he'll get some playing time next season and we'll see him contribute.
With a minimum of Newton, Spencer, and Castle not here next season, he'll be higher up on the depth chart. Unless we land some very high level transfers.

I think Hurley would quit mid-season if we had a team who wasn't bought-in on defense.
Defense is what turned this game. We just clamped down and it spurred those runs.

Crazy part is that it actually wasn’t a very easy win. They didn’t play great for 20 minutes and won by 27.
We weee down by what? 10 to start? 40 point flip for the most part. And very easy once we got our heads straight.

My takeaway......the Greek can SHOOT!
