. . . go to Tierney Lawlor, Saniya Chong, and Katie Lou Samuelson.:):):)

One each to TLaw and Saniya for inspiring several busloads of family, friends and fans to attend and boost the decibel count in Gampel.;);)

One to Lou for that quick 4-point play that enabled the host of busriders (and, of course, several thousand other congregants) to take their seats to enjoy the proceedings with 39+ minutes still on the clock.;)

And one Boneyard Boo-Boo to Geno for not wearing a tie for the Seniors Ceremony.:(

Hats off to the Seniors... Saniya and Tierney...both contributed to UCONN Women's Basketball over the past 4 years... but the true Badass for this game was Katie Lou for bringing back the shooting stroke we have all been hoping for! Great job LOU! Welcome Back!!

The award goes to Lou.

A special thank you to Tierney, because when UConn Huskies needed players to filled the team, she answered the call along with Polly.

I am so proud of Saniya, because she has worked very hard, and really improved her defense and gained confidence. Most of all she gained the trust of Geno.

Saniya's foot action on D is vintage UConn
She had a fine game.

Interesting that she seems not to get too high or low...
Usually on Senior day, the honorees throw up bricks for a while.
Saniya played a normal Saniya game and seemed completely comfortable
and is all but a 40-minute player but never seems tired.

Lou channeled her inner Maya by putting 8 points on the board in the first 80 seconds. Maya liked to give her team a big lead early on.

Shooting touches are like batting slumps in baseball. They come and go without any warning or reason. Thank goodness hers returned in time for post-season play. Lou was smiling and grinning (and animated) the entire game, and with good reason. She could had not been happier had she won the state lottery. It could be said that THE TEAM won the lottery upon the return of her shooting touch. Geno sure looked relieved during his post game interview with Justine Ward. :p
