Back to Back Georgia State Champion Colben Landrew

.-.
Still think he will not start? He may not start from day 1 but he has the size, power and all the tools.
Heck, he made MAA 1st team.
Ross starts and Landrew takes over at some point. Max Prep. I think he's 1 of the top 3-4 freshmen next year. Him, Stoke and Holt.

We shouldn't sleep on this kid, he'll be part of the formula next year. Staff really intentional about him - although aren't talking about him quite the same as they did Mullins.

Silas Braylon and Landrew is a tough unit. Silas and Landrew both FB mentalities.
Yeah that is gonna be a load with capable 3pt shooting (saw Landrew at 46% catch and shoot) so Hawkins like. And him running downhill will be fun to watch while Mullins has to be guarded to the logo. Then Demary can shoot and drive.

Add Khamenia as a stretch 4 and Hines crashing the glass.

Gonna be some growing pains but this team has chops already

Both Nik and Colben have a nice upside to their game that they like to take off in the fast break. Colben’s size is deceiving where he initiated some nice steals and fast breaks cutting passes at the top of key and initiating a fast break. His one on one d and keeping faster college guards in front of him looks like will need some work, but he is big and wide to eventually make fast guards’ attempts going around him be difficult. It will be fun to watch those fast breaks with a few guys hopefully initiating lob city.

We've had some good rebounding guards in past years. If Landrew can help on the boards, 5 or 6 a game consistently, that would be a very substantial impact.
With Landrew's handle-after he clears the boards-and immediately initiating transition O and/or facilitating a break- will be a weapon for us.

Plus Hines was big time football recruit as well…this team not gonna get pushed around
They're going to be tough as nails - shifting Mullins to the 2 does a lot defensively. We need some size at the 3, go with Landrew, we need some length, go with Ross. I can even see cases where Khamenia & Landrew switch men depending on the 4 & 3 they are playing.

Great point…remember when we were getting Devin Royal? He is a 4 that’s 6’6 but built like Landrew, kinda Charles Barkley types in that the create space and move people

I do - that fact we are rumored there means Hurley likes having that kind of piece. Seems like Hurley's agenda this year is less about verticality and more about functional toughness/strength. This feels like it's really going to be his kind of team.

1v1 with an unlimited dribbles and no timer is trash anyway, leads to goofy clips looking exactly like that

For sure. It's just for fun I'm not ribb9ng the kid. I'm sure at the camp they're doing 3 dribble max drills. Defender around a cone, extra point for a left hand finish. Whatever.

Am I the only one who doesn't find this impressive at all? He's fumbling the ball and loose with it. I've seen way better from him.

Not a guy who has a 1v1 skillset like that. He looks best shooting or downhill physicality attacking closeouts
Not sure, who is the guy he's going against? If he's a high school senior going against an amazing 1v1 legend as is suggested, he does break the guy down.

That’s Uncle Skoob, famous YouTube 1v1

He's not a 1v1 legend. He's a Youtuber. None of those guys are actually very good or they'd be playing actual pro ball.

He breaks the guy down with 48 billion dribbles. It's not a big deal. It's two guys goofing off after runs at a camp. It's just nothing that moves my opinion of the kid one way or the other.

His high school season was incredible. Shot it well off the catch and dribble, tough as s#%t under the rim on the boards and finishing. Really improving as a passer.

Upside as a frosh? When does he hit the draft?
