B1G pushing to shorten the Bowl Season

ITs pretty clear that the four super conferences will be breaking away from the NCAA.

I dont think the conferences leave with only the schools that are a part of the conferences now. I think the commissioners are too smart to leave while leaving the huge gap of the northeast and a large part of the east coast that none of the current big 4 have schools in. This gap from maine to north carolina holds too high a percentage of the country's population to be left out of the highest level of college football. I think this fact could end up being a heaven sent for UCONN because its hard to imagine that many of the schools in this region have a much better chance at being invited to the big 4 than UCONN.

Does anyone know if the schools would be able to keep all their other sports in the NCAA while moving football to some other organization?

According to reports, the B1G and SEC are pushing to pass a rule that would restrict the timing in which bowl games could be played. They want to make a rule that all bowl games must be played between Dec 25th and Jan 1st.

I think this would eventually reduce the number of bowl games--which would of course only help the elite conferences as they wouldn't lose bowl games--it would be the "less powerful conferences" which would lose their bowl spots. More of the same...the power conferences consolidating all of their power and pushing out the competition.

After the playoff details are released the next games to go to contract will be BiG #3/SEC #3 and the PAC #3/Big 12 #3 matchups at $10 mil per team

Then they can throw the best 4 seeds as bones at the BE/ND champs and ACC champs and call it a done deal at $5 mill each.
