Azzi will now join her former teammate and she and Paige will make the Dallas Wings into a team that will be come a team to beware. Azzi will be a starter from day one and I would not be surprised if Azzi becomes Rookie of the Year in her first season. I now will watchthe Wings play whenever I can, just because of them. GO AZZI!!!! GO PAIGE!!! GO WINGS!!!!

It will be interesting to see what type of team Jose puts on the court this coming season. While it’s easy to focus on the offensive side with Paige, Azzi and Arike, the Wings are also assembling a pretty good defensive team. Paige & Azzi can certainly hold their own on defense. In addition, the Wings have brought in Smith, Shepard & Clark, veteran players who can all play defense.

Wh I look at the roster, I see lots of bright spots. I’m not sure how Arike will fit in, but maybe she’ll try to make it work. She is the elder stateswoman on the roster. Ah can share the spotlight if she chooses — admit to herself what everyone else knows — and become a mentor.

Smith looks like a great addition, and Zée could be as well. The guard core of Paige Azzi Maddy Grace is solid to brilliant.

And my personal favorite, Yueru.

I’m optimistic about this season. Playoffs here we come.

I love it when friends go right at each other in basketball. My daughter was a pretty good basketball player and some of my favorite games are when she played against friends and AAU teammates on her high school team. Both kids would go incredibly hard, but after the game, it was all hugs and handshakes.

Happy for Azzi. Looking forward to watching their games this season. Year 30 for the WNBA!!! Nobody expected the W to make it this far. The game is in great hands with players like Azzi, Paige, CC, Phee, A'ja, KP, and a host of other great players of the WNBA!!
