If I were to round up her 3-point scoring to 3 per game, with 10 games remaining, she could get to #5 on the list.

Her per game rate is currently lower than KML.

According to this list, Azzi is averaging 2.5 threes per game. (That happens to be third on this list in consistency, behind KLS [2.73] and KML [2.8].) Assuming she could keep up that 2.5 rate over the next 10 games, she would finish in 5th place, just ahead of Ann Strother.

Two qualifications:

1. It's quite possible that as we get deeper into tournament time, Azzi's mpg will increase, giving her greater opportunity to increase her 3pg output. Even if she did, it's unlikely she would catch Maya in 4th place.

2. This is all based on playing another 10 games. That means getting to the BE finals (not a big deal), and getting into the NCAA finals (more challenging). As I recall, Maya, in her senior year (2011), was headed for some tournament records but fell short when UConn got knocked out in the national semi-final, depriving her of one more game.

Both Kaleena and Lou missed a bunch of games (elbow, mono, ankle). If they had played every game, they would have had 400+.

One notable thing about Maya--she played in all of 154 games. In fact, she missed 1 game in 16 years. Lou Gehrig, Cal Ripken, and Maya Moore.

At most, we have 10 games left. She has an outside shot to catch Maya, but is 45 3's behind. I think she ends up at #5 ahead of Annie...
I count nine games remaining if they win it all. One regular season BE game, 3 BE tournament games, 5 NCAA tournament games.

Of the 10 Games, Azzi will probably have low minutes in the last regular season game, at least 2 if not 3 of the BE tournament games, and probably the first 2 March Madness game, so there will be lower opportunities for her deadly 3 pointers. She will probably get past Wendy Davis, but more difficult to get past Ann Strother. Unless she has a few 10+ 3 pointer games, which is certainly a possibility. 😃

UConn played 5 last year. Did something change for a number one seed?
You're thinking of the Big East Tournament, where the seeds 6-11 play their first round games on Friday, while the 1-5 seeds play the quarter finals games on Saturday. In the NCAA Tournament you have the play in games and then everyone plays their first round game at one of the 16 tournament sites, the Championship game means 6 games.

KML had 36 more games played than Azzi....142 to 106 games played....

If Azzi didn't miss so much time due to injuries she would probably be our greatest 3 pointer ever... Figuring she would probably average 3 makes a game..

Either way, Azzi is becoming one of my favorite Huskies ever. Her tourney play last year will never be forgotten.

She has a chance to do it twice.. Talk about a comeback..

Wendy Davis, my classmate at UConn, was a key member of UConn's first Final Four team in '91. The fact that she is still on that list shows how 1). Only a few players are allowed to shoot the 3-ball and 2). We are not a big three-point shooting program.

Stats can mean what you want them to mean. IMO, Azzi is the best three point shooter in UConn history. She will be a #1 WNBA pick because of her pure and quick release.
If she played the same amount of games AND minutes, she would be at the top of that total list.
