Azzi on Mental Health Awareness

It's difficult for most people to talk openly about this issue, which is why it's all the more important for people like Azzi to share their own experience in dealing with mental health issues. It makes me appreciate her all the more.

Didn't see this elsewhere and thought it might be a good share.

Part of the things that make exceptional athletes exceptional is a drive for perfection, which, as we all know, is unattainable. The very best athletes, then, have to find a balance between that drive in the ability to not let mistakes impact their self-confidence. It's a tough balance to strike for many people.

I do feel like Azzi is more comfortable in her own skin. Certainly winning a national championship in being the M O P of the championship game would seem to be very validating. If she is comfortable in her own skin, and plays with "goldfish memory", we are very likely to have a good season.

(But we still are doomed. Never forget that.)
