Azzi on GMA

With malice towards none, as the saying went in the old Manchester Herald - I couldn’t help but wondering if the GMA invitation would have gone out to other individuals, had UCONN not won, and if it had, how the conversation, by comparison, would have flowed.

I remember "Malice towards None" as the tagline for Owen Canfield from the Hartford Courant. Was that used in the Manchester Herald as well? BTW, I don't remember the Manchester Herald.

As for Azzi, she is always so nice in her interviews. I have seen several with Holly Rowe and Azzi is always gracious and handles herself so well. Looking forward to watching her next season.

It would depend on how the player handled herself. For example, I have no doubt that Tehina Pao Pao would have received rave reviews. Chloe Kitts, not so much.

So my really smart wife just suggested the source of Azzi’s new hairstyle is Madison Reed. Obviously, Madison Reed is a big NIL backer for UConn WBB and they have a location in NYC complete with beauty, makeup, hair color and hair stylist professionals.

You’re smart to have married a really smart partner - that’s what I did!

You’re even wiser to have publicly acknowledged it!

One item that struck me with the GMA interview is mention that the players are still students and they have finals in two weeks.

I was interested in Azzi’s comment that the athletic accomplishment level she and Paige are at brings with It obligations such as these types of interviews. It’s a great testimony to UConn’s program (and some other schools as well) that the great majority of players also excel academically.

You might be right on the Canfield and Courant alignment. Manchester afternoon paper (Herald) was a decent rag and devoted a lot of time to the various in-town adult sports teams and leagues.
