I was fearing the worst! Ashlynn will certainly give it her best shot replacing Azzi!
 
Next woman up, that would be Ash. She did okay against Louisville and should be fine against ND. She played all 40 minutes last year went 6-12, missing all of her 3 pt shots. She has a full season under her belt and is in better condition than she was last season. We also have KK and Morgan who can come in and help. This years team is in better shape than last years. The Irish is the team that is currently shorthanded.

Man....I don't think there is anyone ever with worse luck than this poor kid. Just wow.

She will really be missed against Notre Dame. Fast speedy guards. Would sure be nice to actualy have a full team against them for once. Three years in a row now without that.

I am in complete agreement with you. We have ASHLYNN and she will shine in the game with Notre Dame. I believe she has found her shot back in the Louisville game. She is a year older and a year smarter and will be what we all know she can do and that is defend and score. I believe every player on the team realizes the importance of this game and will come through. They are too good not to. I believe MORGAN will be a real factor. This is her kind of game. GO FRESHMEN!!!! GO SOPHOMORES!!!!! GO HUSKIES!!!!!
 
This kid can’t seem to catch a break. Anyhow, this is a much better news update than what could have happened. Everyone loves Azzi so much, and would like to see her healthy enough to show off her talent on the basketball court, for an extended period of time. Instead, it’s one disappointment after another. In the mean time, I’m sending her and the team best wishes. Go UConn!! Go Huskies!!

Hope so. As much as I dislike ND, their backcourt is top notch.

Azzi has been remarkably star-crossed with her health over the past six years or so, yet right down the bench from her sits a young woman whose career is very likely over because of a crazy series of head injuries: Caroline Ducharme.

Azzi at least has the possibility, perhaps even the likelihood of coming back strong again, as she showed in a couple of recent games.

And all that said, they're just two of those whose serious injuries have jeopardized their careers.

By the way, I got a kick out of hearing Geno start his presser today by explaining Azzi had her knee sprained "when a kid landed on it." Which kid was that, Coach?
 
UConn has great players but this game will come down to how they match up with ND guards. In my opinion Ash and KC will struggle with the talent on ND and HH will have her way with either of them. On the other hand the same is true for Paige and Sarah so they will kind of balance or cancel each other. Home court will help but I think KK plays a lot and limits HH and Paige will take Miles and do fine if she stays out of foul trouble which she usually does.

The good news is it looks like Azzi is going to come back real soon and her last game out was remarkable.
 
Azzi is missing more games? Shocked!

She'll be huge in March.
 
As much as I have the urge to be bummed, I am very relieved it’s not worse. I’ve seen seemingly minor injuries be serious too many times.

I wish she was available, since it’s ND, but I want her to be cautious. Ash and Chen will come through.

This is great news and considering UConn's luck, well unluck with Irish, I think this is a blessing in disguise. She'll be prepped for USC and that clash will see her pick up where she started at Louisville.
 
Any injury is an unfortunate one, especially for someone who clearly loves and enjoys the game of basketball as much as Azzi does. Luckily, it is just a minor one and she will be back stronger and better than ever soon!
