Azzi had the crowd on her side today at CTK in NYC. She sank 2 FTs with 12 seconds to go for the win over powerhouse Centennial. In the early game, New Hope beat #1 Miami Country Day. They play SJC tomorrow.

New Hope 17 St Johns 12 at half.

Azzi Fudd with an ice cold first half shooting and quite more turnovers than I expected. A 10AM start is way too early.

After a good 3Q taking a 32-27 lead into 4Q, Azzi and St Johns had a horrible 4Q losing 45-34. Must be catching.

Azzi had a bad ankle and limped once or twice. Her shot was totally off, maybe 3-15. Yes, bad 4th quarters seem to be contagious.

I wonder if she slept poorly after watching last night's game. I surely did.

New Hope Academy tops neighbor St. John's to win GEICO Nationals

St. John's (36-2) was led by Fudd, who had 14 points and 12 rebounds but shot just 5-for-19 from the field.

"I couldn't make a shot," Fudd said. "My whole game was ugly."

Said [Jada] Walker: "I know Azzi is a great player. I'm exhausted trying to defend her."
