Azzi Confirms Return

Finally she can get away from that Paige person!

Pardon. Little giddy. Simply great, great news!!!!

This article summarizes the horrific injury pitfalls Azzi has suffered in her college career. Seeing it in print my admiration for Azzi's grit has expanded a great deal. What a fighter.

This is too good to be true!:D

A full year to hopefully have a solid All-American caliber run.

Finish off that masters.

Hang with buddy DuCharme.

Win plenty of games with our core of excellent returning players.

Welcome back Azzi!

Great decision by her after all the injuries. This gives her a year without Paige to get back to the Alpha shot hunter she was before all the injuries. And it is a really good business decision since there will be a new WNBA salary contract by then with better rookie salaries.

I was pretty sure she'd be back; a good decision on her part and a huge boost to next years team.
Now we have our leader and a PG if things do not work out between KK and Kelis. I really like the setup with Paige this year, not having to bring up the ball, but taking over at halfcourt. Now all we need is a portal BIG! Go Huskies!

I think it is a good decision for Her and the Team. She gets one more year to impress the WNBA, she gets the new WNBA contract with higher rookie salary, and she gets to be the leader of the Team...not in anyone's shadow (except maybe Sarah). And of course the Team wins with a known player with high skills to lead the team next year.

Happy.... :):cool::D

My local girl likes college life, loves UConn, and wants to show everyone what she can REALLY do. I am not surprised, but am relieved. Congrats to Azzi! I'm excited about seeing you in a UConn jersey one more year. Despite losing the great Paige Bueckers, the lineup looks really, really good for next year.

Let's get real, for people like Paige and Azzi playing basketball money is not nor has it ever been the reason to stay at UConn or move on. If so Paige would be back next year, as the WNBA new contract after this season would give Paige a bigger boat load of bucks. However for Paige it is time to move on, she has reached every goal that is possible to reach save one. Her maturity on court is unmatched as is her skill, leaving only a National Championship on her wish list.
Azzi is in a much different plane, she now knows that she has to grow into a leadership roll, {Paige's job the days she was on the court}. If Azzi is to be team leader, she must put herself in that position, as Paige has for the last 4 years. Azzi must work on consistency, continue to improve her defense while taking a vocal role on the court. She is the heir apparent as leader, if the team accepts her in that role. Let's roll Azzi, lets role Huskies. She's back, good things to come.
