Think he still has four years of eligibility left because he took a medical redshirt this year.

Here is part of his bio from his Auburn player page:

Adds a lot in terms of versatility and the ability to play multiple positions because of his athleticism at 6-foot-3 and his skill to be able to score the ball and also run a team.

Here is his ESPN recruiting page: http://espn.go.com/college-sports/basketball/recruiting/player/_/id/74250/cedrick-mcafee

Here is his Rivals page: http://rivals.yahoo.com/basketballrecruiting/basketball/recruiting/player-Cedrick-McAfee-86073

Intriguing, I have to say. I wish some big guys had their "eyes set on UConn."

I don't know about this one - this kid is a trip.

First, he didn't really transfer. He was kicked off the team at Auburn for rules violations. Second, I remember some sort of kerfuffle surrounding his recruitment - he committed to FIU, then decommitted, then committed to Auburn and then either his HS or AAU coach claimed some sort of NBA agent's runner was involved.

Sounds like exactly what we need. Is he also robotic?

Could this be a case where a recruit has his eyes set on a big time program to pump up his perceived value while the so called program has little to no interest in him?

As someone pointed out, the team needs bigs more than anything. I was okay with that PG that was considering reclassifying instead of going back to HS for another year. You can never have too many PGs and it's nice to have some that can learn for a year or two before taking the keys to the car.

If in fact this kid has some baggage, it would be wise for UConn to steer clear of him. The last thing this program needs is any players who are at risk of not finishing out a school year in good academic standing. There seems to be a big risk at even adding players who are a reach for this level...not saying he is...that could up and transfer mid season or mail it in the 2nd semester with plans of transferring to a new school the following fall.

I agree. What's interesting that we have guards for at least 2 more years. PT is limited to a certain effect.

I could be wrong but this may be the Ollie effect. What young guard wouldn't want to be under Ollie's tutelage?

That's why I was thinking too. A lot of praise for Ollie coming from young players recently.

Agree about the baggage. the coaches would probably need to look really closely at him before making any kind of offer. last thing we need is a head case, or someone who disrupts team chemistry and/or has acedemic or other issues...

One positive, Charles Barkley may compliment the efforts of one of our players when we return to March Madness. It may be some sort of backhanded, half-ass (fat ass if you want to take a dig at Sir Charles) compliment, but the word "compliment" is somewhere in there.

Think of the positives, my friends.
