Rickea didn’t play well in the first half but she turned it on and was terrific in the 2nd. I thought MSU didn’t handle the press well initially. Taylor would dribble the ball into some bad spots and try to make some difficult passes but her teammates at times did not come back for the ball and help her out.

I think Carter with the foul trouble was a big issue. No offense to Morris, she still has a lot of work to do, specifically on defense/rebounding. Carter is by far their best option down there.

Someone please tell Y Morris that she is 6’6” with size and strength. I can’t tell if she is still getting used to the speed of the game or is trying to gain confidence or isn’t mean enough or a combination of all three. I lost count on the number of plays she missed due to effort. I don’t think she is lazy or has a bad attitude but is simply in over her head right now.

Also, R Jackson has some great post moves and is great with her back to the basket. According to Coach Schaefer she is 6’3” now. If she can gain some weight and more strength in the offseason she may be most effective playing more as a four.

At this point I can only say Myah, Jordan and Rickea are consistent and plays pretty much the same quality of game each game. I realize Taylor maxes out at 2-4 points but she plays pretty much the same game that Vic likes every single night out.

This team continues to baffle me. It was only a few seasons but we fans became spoiled with fairly consistent and steady play from an experienced lineup and this team just doesn’t have it. I cringe to think where we would be had Danberry not been deemed eligible to return (which still baffles me but whatever).
Two of the last three games should have been gimmes and two were borderline struggle wins. Not sure what happens the next few bit I no longer feel as comfortable as I did after SC about three rest of the year.

Have to agree. It feels like Vic has too many choices and the team is not getting enough playing together as a unit to develop the chemistry we have enjoyed in the past. I still do not know game to game who will get significant playing minutes. Glad it is Vic calling the shots because I think he will solve this issue by Big Dance time. I believe we have the talent, just need to gel.

It is very concerning that we are this far into the season and there have not been a core of players step up to separate themselves from the others. I’m also still not able to identify the mental/emotional leader of the team. Coach Schaefer was correct in his press conference last night when he said that his point guard was not talking to her teammates during the game and basically taking control of the situation.
